Your Google Business Profile in Ranknera

Updated October 24, 2026

Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing people see: your hours, phone number, reviews and the button to get directions. Ranknera keeps an eye on it for you under Sites › Local listing in the dashboard. Local listing is being rolled out; if you don't see that tab yet, it isn't on for your account.

Connect your profile

Choose Connect with Google and sign in with the Google account that manages your Business Profile. Google asks you to let Ranknera manage your profile: that is the only permission Google offers for Business Profiles, but for now Ranknera only reads. It changes nothing on Google.

  • Every location that Google account manages appears in the list. Untick Watch this location for any you don't want Ranknera to follow.
  • A location can belong to only one Ranknera account. If someone else already connected it, Ranknera tells you and leaves it out.
  • Ranknera links each location to your site with the same web address, so you can see both side by side. You can change the link on the location's page.

Changes to check

Google sometimes edits a profile itself, and anyone can suggest an edit. Once a day Ranknera compares your listing with what it looked like when you connected it, or when you last approved a change. When something differs (a phone number, your hours, the website), you get an alert and the change waits under Changes to check.

  • Keep Google's version makes the new value the approved one.
  • Ignore leaves it as it is and stops the alert. If the value changes again, you hear about it again.
  • To change a value back, edit it in Google Business Profile for now. Changing your listing from Ranknera is coming.

Formatting alone isn't a change: (206) 555-0142 and +1 206 555 0142 are the same number, and opening hours past midnight count the same however they are written.

Reviews

New Google reviews appear within the hour, with your reply if you wrote one. You can filter by stars and see what share of reviews you replied to. A review deleted on Google is marked as deleted, not silently lost. Replying from Ranknera, with a suggested reply you approve first, is coming; for now reply in Google Business Profile.

Performance

Ranknera imports your profile's numbers every day: calls, direction requests, website clicks, messages, and how often you were seen on Google Search and Maps. Google shares them a day or two late, so the latest days fill in afterwards. Your site's search performance is on the Performance page.

When something needs you

  • Not verified yet: Google hasn't verified the location. Ranknera shows it and starts watching for changes once Google verifies it.
  • Suspended or disabled by Google: Ranknera alerts you once. Resolve it in Google Business Profile; Ranknera keeps tracking reviews meanwhile.
  • Reconnect: if you remove Ranknera's access at Google, or Google stops accepting it, tracking pauses and Ranknera asks you to connect again. What was already tracked stays.
  • Updates delayed: Google limits how often apps may ask. Nothing is lost; Ranknera tries again every hour and tells you if the delay lasts a day.

Disconnect and your data

Disconnect stops Ranknera reading your profile and asks Google to remove its access. The copies of your listing, reviews and performance numbers are deleted 30 days later, unless you reconnect before then; tick the box to delete them at once. Deleting your Ranknera account deletes them straight away. Alerts about your listing can be turned off on their own in your notification settings.
