Ask customers for reviews

Updated October 25, 2026

Review requests ask your customers for an honest public review on Google, Trustpilot, the App Store, G2 or Capterra, at a moment you choose, such as a customer's third paid invoice. They are set up under Sites › Review requests in the dashboard. Your own app or a tool you use sends the asks through the Ranknera API; Ranknera decides whether to ask, sends the email or hands the text to Telnera, and tracks whether the customer opened the review form.

Locations and review links

A location is a business, or an app, that asks for reviews. Add one, then paste the address of its review form on each site you use, for example your Trustpilot "evaluate" link. A location linked to your Google listing uses Google's review link by itself. Without a link nothing is sent for that site, and the ask is listed as not sent.

The same ask for everyone

Every customer who reaches the moment gets the same ask, and the link goes straight to the review form. Nobody is asked how it went first, and nothing is offered in return for a review: review sites and consumer law forbid both. The email names your business and the site, carries one link and a one-click unsubscribe.

When a customer isn't asked

  • Already asked: at most one ask per customer every 90 days.
  • Unsubscribed, bounced or no longer a customer: they are never asked again.
  • No consent to texts: a text goes only to customers who agreed to texts from you.
  • No review link for that site on the location.

Each ask in the list says which of these applied, or that it was sent, and whether the customer opened the review form.

Still stuck? Email support@ranknera.com and say which site and keyword it's about.
